Reebok Movement Screens
Purpose : The Seated Rotation is used to assess hip and spinal mobility, in relation to core integrity and stability. This is a difficult posture and movement if your client is either restricted around the hips, and/or relatively weak in the core muscles, and/or restricted in mobility in the thoracic spine.
Description : The client sits up tall, with legs crossed on the floor, and arms crossed in front of the chest. The client rotates to each side. Normal range of motion (thoracic rotation) is approximately 45 degrees. Client should maintain an upright position.
     
Movement Screen Criteria to Score a 2
  • Does not lift, move legs
  • Rotates to approximately 45 degrees
  • Stays upright
Scoring Options
2 No action required - your client meets the observation requirements
1 If any of the preceeding criteria does not occur a one is given.
0 A zero is given if pain is associated with any portion of this screen. It is recommended that a thorough evaluation of the painful area be performed by a medical professional.
